Happy Birthday Jesus!!

Who is He in yonder stall
At Whose feet the shepherds fall?
Who is He in deep distress,
Fasting in the wilderness?

’Tis the Lord! O wondrous story!
’Tis the Lord! the King of glory!
At His feet we humbly fall,
Crown Him! crown Him, Lord of all!

Who is He the people bless
For His words of gentleness?
Who is He to Whom they bring
All the sick and sorrowing?

Who is He that stands and weeps
At the grave where Lazarus sleeps?
Who is He the gathering throng
Greet with loud triumphant song?

Lo! at midnight, who is He
Prays in dark Gethsemane?
Who is He on yonder tree
Dies in grief and agony?

Who is He that from the grave
Comes to heal and help and save?
Who is He that from His throne
Rules through all the world alone?

’Tis the Lord! O wondrous story!
’Tis the Lord! the King of glory!
At His feet we humbly fall,
Crown Him! crown Him, Lord of all!

(This is a beautiful hymn that I only learned this year: it's especially beautiful when sung by my amazingly gifted friend, Judy!)

Merry Christmas Everyone! And God's richest blessings in the New Year!!!

The Saga Continues...

Thanks to all of you who were/are praying for us! We have definitely felt God's grace through all of this. It has gotten much worse: who knew it was even humanly possible for a 2 year old to throw-up like 40 times in one day? It's so hard to watch your kids suffer like that. Today Elliott seems alot better, and Noelle is getting there...

I'm dreaming of a healthy Christmas...

After spending the last two nights up with a sick baby, and one trip to the ER, I know what I want for Christmas!

Family Fun

Today we decided to have a family fun day, and went to the Children's Museum in Winnipeg. It was so much fun! Noelle had never been before, and she had a blast!

Noelle typing in the train.

Elliott had to enjoy the museum from his stroller, although he did get to slide down the big tree slide!
Ty and Noelle operating the backhoe.
Noelle driving a VW bug

We had lunch at McDonald's and the man working there offered Noelle a free ice cream cone, and he let her help make it! She was pretty pumped.

Christmas Fun

This past weekend we enjoyed some fun Christmas activities. We picked out a Charlie Brown Christmas tree from the local gas station for about $17, and Noelle (with a little help) hung all of the decorations that I collected from when I was a child (my mom always bought us an ornament every year, and so we all had our own collection: something I'd like to start with my kids). Then I, with Noelle's help of course, made some popcorn strings (not sure if I'll do that again!), while Ty and Noelle put together our very first Gingerbread Train. The we all decorated it together. It was tons of fun! Of course Elliott didn't really participate, but he is doing very well at not touching the tree! It's so fun to start these traditions with our own family.

You are the Sun by Sara Groves

"You are the sun shining down on everyone
Light of the world giving light to everything I see
Beauty so brilliant I can hardly take it in
And everywhere you are is warmth and light

And I am the moon with no light of my own
Still you have made me to shine
And as I glow in this cold dark night
I know I can't be a light unless I turn my face to you

Shine on me with your light
Without you I'm a cold dark stone
Shine on me
I have no light of my own
You are the sun, you are the sun, you are the sun
And I am the moon"

I was driving to the city last night by myself, and was so moved by this song (as I have been many times before). It is so true.... I don't have any light of my own...only when I turn my face to the Son can I shine!
